Parking Passes

Swing by and pick up your parking pass Thursday at 5:15 (Calvin Hall 174)- Class is not meeting- you can just pick up your passes!

Information from Sonya sent via email: Please read!!!

Good morning Friends!

I am writing to provide you with information for Friday's big event on main campus. First, attached you will find a map of main campus. On Friday, you will be going to building #64 on this map. This is the Technology and Education Center. Please make sure that you plan extra time for parking. We will begin promptly at 9 am.

On Thursday, you may pick up a parking pass from Carrie on the Gallup campus. Starting at 5:15 she will be located in Calvin Hall, room 174. The parking permits will allow you to park in designated lots ONLY. They do not allow you to park in the parking structures. You can park in lots labeled D/R/E/G. I will be choosing to park in the parking structure on Yale because I believe it to be the most convenient and I am lazy. The cost for the day will be around $14. This is completely up to you.

If you choose to use the lots, please make sure that you scratch off the month and day on the front of the permit as well as the lot at the bottom. Campus security WILL issue tickets if this is not done. Unfortunately, I know from experience.

If you choose a parking structure, I recommend the one on Yale. You reach this structure by turning right onto Yale from Lomas. There is a bridge on the third level of the structure that leads out to Los Lomas. Walk to your left and you will want to cut between building #76 and #58...Building #58 is Hokona Hall.

If you get lost or if you are running late, please feel free to call or text me at 502-533-0070.

Please let me know if you have questions. I am looking forward to hearing about your research on Friday. Take good care, Sonya

Oral Presentation Invitation

I have uploaded the Oral Presentation Invitation on the 513 Website in the Week 9 folder. Please print if necessary.

Week 9: Take a step forward

Assignments: The following assignments should be your focus for this week
  • 10 Strategic Points- use this document to prepare for the Oral Presentation
  • Literature Review 2
  • Draft Proposal
  • Appendix A- use to start to frame out the sections of your proposal
Remember everyone is in different stages in the process. So if you are not quite comfortable with drafting out some of the sections  of your proposal, that is fine. Take a step forward. Our main focus is preparing for the Oral Presentations to gain solid feedback and to progress in your research of the topic. Other than the Literature Review 2, you are not required to post either your 10 Strategic Points or your Draft Proposal to your website.

Keep me posted via email with questions or concerns. Next week, we will work in groups to examine each others literature review and 10 Strategic Points / Draft Proposal. I hope the samples were helpful!

I have posted last week's powerpoint to the website in the powerpoint folder and tomorrow I will post an official invitation to the Oral Presentations in Albuquerque. I will place it in the Week 9 folder if you would like to print it. I did check with GMCS in regard to professional leave, however I was informed this type of leave is not covered by the district. Therefore, you will have to arrange either personal or professional leave with your site administrator.

Any questions, let me know!

Thanks- Dr. Lovato

Week 8

Howdy,

I hope everyone had a restful long weekend! I have reviewed all the literature reviews posted to individual websites...if I missed yours please let me know! If you have not posted yet, please do so as soon as possible and send me an email so I know it has been uploaded. If you need individual assistance, please let me know...I have enjoyed meeting with some of you one one- it doesn't generally take long to sort out the issues and get you moving along again! So, please do not wait too long to ask for help.

I have posted some sample action research papers and other supports in the Week 8 folder on the course website. I am still waiting on confirmation from Dr. Vitale on whether she is coming to class, however either way we will continue examining our 10 Strategic Points and sharing out our progress n the Literature Reviews. I look forward to seeing you all in class on Thursday!

Fall Break

Hi everyone,
I am still working on looking at everyone's Literature Reviews...I am about half done. I should have everyone complete by Thursday, unfortunately I am also working on my teacher evaluations. Remember the next lit review is not due until October 21, 2014. We do not have class this week or any assignments due; use this time to catch up if needed. It is my hope we will have Dr. Vitale from UNM San Juan in class on October 14th to discuss the Oral Presentations scheduled for November 7th. Please be ready to share out your progress on the 10 Strategic points and continue to build your annotated bibliographies in class on October 14, 2014.

Individual questions or assistance please let me know! Be sure to take some time for yourself over the break!
